Rondo receives Wellpappe Austria Award 2020
Innovative “dispensing tower” for fruit juices captivates in the creative corrugated board category
For the sixth time, “Forum Wellpappe Austria” awarded prizes for the industry’s outstanding product ideas this year. An independent jury nominated the finalists from all submissions and the winners were announced on 5 October 2020. Once again, this year Rondo’s packaging developers have received one of the coveted prizes: of the four nominated entries, the team's dispensing tower at the St. Ruprecht site was the winning project in the “creative corrugated board” category.
A total of 37 submissions were assessed by the expert jury this year and the finalists were selected for each category – including four projects by Rondo Ganahl AG. The innovative “dispensing tower” from the team at the St. Ruprecht site won over all participants in the “creative corrugated board” category and is now eligible to participate in “WorldStar”, the international award from the World Packaging Organisation.
The award ceremony took place on 5 October 2020 as a small celebration in Vienna due to the COVID-19 regulations. Each Wellpappe Austria Award 2020 winner received a wooden sculpture by the Vorarlberg artist Stefan Kresser. Karl Pucher, manager at Rondo St. Ruprecht, was there to take over the prize: “Our innovative bag-in-box packaging solution is suitable for all kinds of fruit juices. I am particularly pleased that the “Zapfturm” received the award in the “creative corrugated board” since this prize confirms the outstanding work of the entire team. We put our development skills, innovative strength and creativity into practice on a daily basis to implement customised, economical and creative packaging solutions for our customers.”
