Rondo receives four WorldStar Packaging Awards 2020

The Rondo Group, headquartered in Frastanz has won no fewer than four of the coveted WorldStar Packaging Awards 2020. Innovative packaging solutions from the corrugated board experts were awarded in the transport, point of sale and food categories.

Packaging developers at Rondo can celebrate once again. After already winning an impressive three awards at the “Corrugated Board Austria Awards” in Vienna in October 2019, the Rondo Group has also received great recognition at international level: in addition to the sustainable corrugated board crates for fruit products (food category) and two promotionally effective display varieties (point of sale category), the new transport packaging for Geberit concealed cisterns also won over the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2020 jury.

Geberit WC system packaging – excellent packaging with added value
Geberit concealed cisterns are used all over the world. The new transport packaging for this product was designed in an L-shape so that it can be easily stacked on standard pallets. This means that pallets can be loaded more efficiently, halving logistics and storage costs. The packaging is systematically constructed so that the product parts can be removed in the exact order in which they have to be assembled. The concealed cistern is fixed inside the packaging with a corrugated board insert, which can also be used as a fitting aid. Using corrugated board instead of another material for the insert also makes the Geberit system packaging recyclable mono-packaging.

One display – many options: Inzersdorfer Sugo product presentation
In collaboration with Maresi, a display for the ideal product presentation for Inzersdorfer Sugo at the point of sale was created, which impressively shows how effective corrugated board can be in advertising. The versatility of the display is also impressive: thanks to a modular system, various display options fit onto a single base. And the back is designed in such a way that any size can be fixed. The display can, therefore, be adapted as required simply by changing the intermediate plates.

Sustainable eye-catcher for Kellys
The special feature of this display is that it is made of only three individual corrugated board parts. Shelf-ready packaging, which has long been used by Kellys, is stacked on top of each other so that it also acts as a stabilising intermediate shelf for the display. The eye-catching design of the side panels, which depicts the display in the design of an American football, not only attracts the customer’s attention at the point of sale for Kellys’ products, it also won over the international jury at the Worldstar Packaging Awards 2020.

Corrugated board with lots of potential
“We are very pleased about this international award, which further encourages us to develop and implement optimal packaging for each individual product together with our customers”, explains Hubert Marte, chairman of the Rondo Ganahl AG board. “Corrugated board packaging has lots of potential: it is sustainable, cost effective and offers creative, practical and spectacular packaging solutions. Furthermore, customised corrugated board packaging can be economically and precisely matched to the intended use,” says Marte.
