Electricity and natural gas are the Ganahl Group’s main energy sources. Through targeted measures, we improve energy efficiency and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
Our target, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), is to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030 compared with the 2021 base year. Learn more about our climate target and our progress
Measures to achieve our targets
To implement our climate goals, we focus on the following measures:
- Electric energy: Our target is to source 100% of the electricity used at the included sites from renewable sources by 2030. The scope, procurement instruments and interim targets will be published in the implementation plan.
- Thermal energy: Existing gas boilers will be gradually electrified; in addition, the residual materials power plant will cover a significant share of heat demand.
- Promotion of electromobility: The vehicle fleet will be fully converted to electric vehicles, gradually replacing diesel and petrol vehicles.
Progress 2021–2025
The Ganahl Group has already achieved measurable progress:
